Does Your Bank Accept Branding As A Deposit?

Does Your Bank Accept Branding As A Deposit?

You are not going to believe this.

Something odd happened to me the other day and it wasn’t the first time this has happened either.

I wanted to let my Nashpreneurs know about it so it doesn’t happen to them too.

I had to pay a bill the other day and when I went to Regions, which is where we bank at, they wouldn’t let me deposit “branding” into my bank account.

What the crap? Surely not Regions too?

Before that, I went to Comcast to pay our cable bill and they declined my payment of “getting my name out there“!!!

What is this world coming to???

I mean, I thought branding is what a business is built on. Branded websites.Branded social media channels. Branding Firms that charge big bucks for….???

Obviously I am making these stories up. However, I had to write about this topic because it seems everyone and their mom pitches branding/image advertising basically. When you ask them about accountability for their branding actions….well….how dare you? You just need to get your name out there or bring awareness to the topic. Come on!

Listen, you don’t have a business unless someone hands you the Visa.

Before you accuse me of being against branding, I will have you know, I think that you MUST have branding in your business because that is what helps share your story as the brilliant branding consultant, Jeff Livak from Catapult Creative would say.

Oh and by the way, Jeff did the branding behind Nashpreneurville so there you have it. Proof that I am not 100% busting on branding.

You need to have branding and direct response marketing as a mixture to be successful.

I call my branding, “playing defense”. When you have good defense, you can then start taking action with your offense, which is to get leads or deal flow into your business.

The moral of the story is, know which Nashville banks and cable providers accept branding and getting my name out there as payment. haha

What are your thoughts? How important is it?
